The Department of Pediatrics of Semmelweis University warmly invites everyone to the Rosszcsont Charity Run and Family Day on Saturday, March 14, starting at 9:00 a.m., where our young patients, their family members, friends, and supporters can come together and get active for a good cause. The event is connected to World Pediatric Rheumatology Day on March 18 and aims to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity and support for children living with pediatric rheumatologic diseases.
Run or Walk – Everyone at Their Own Pace
The Rosszcsont Run is a symbolic, family-friendly event open to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. Participants may choose a leisurely walk, a jog, or a more serious run. The designated route can be completed as many times as participants wish. We are equally happy to welcome those who would like to walk a single lap and those who feel inspired to complete the course three times. The most important thing is that we move together, in a shared spirit and good atmosphere.
The run starts at the main entrance of the Clinic at 39 Angyal Street and returns to the starting point via Tompa Street, Telepy Street, and Tűzoltó Street. In other words, participants will complete an approximately 2.5-kilometre loop around the Tűzoltó Street campus. The safety of participants will be ensured by the Budapest Police Headquarters, which will close the route to traffic for the duration of the event.
The group activity is expected to last approximately one to one and a half hours, after which the programme will continue in the Clinic’s parking area.
Family Activities After the Run
The Rosszont Charity Run is not only about exercise – family activities will be available throughout the morning.
In the parking area, we will host a “vehicle petting zoo,” where children can take a close look at fire engines, ambulances, sports cars, and motorcycles. Arts and crafts activities will also be available.
Useful knowledge will also be part of the programme:
- My Friend, the Pediatrician – an educational and interactive programme for children
- What Should I Do If My Child Is Ill? – guidance and advice for parents
- Smart Plate – dietary counselling on healthy and conscious nutrition
- Pediatric CPR Training – practical demonstration of life-saving skills
The organizers’ goal is for the Rosszcsont Charity Run to be, at the same time, a joyful community event, an educational programme, and a genuine opportunity to provide support – where shared experiences, knowledge, and solidarity are equally important.
How Do We Support the Cause?
Participation itself is a form of support. The aim of the Rosszcsont Run is to draw attention to the children treated at the Clinic and to provide an opportunity for participants to contribute, through donations of any amount, to supporting pediatric rheumatology care and improving the everyday lives of our young patients.
We look forward to welcoming everyone!
